This house was designed in the 1960s for a Japanese ambassador. The original kitchen was large and intended for a live-in chef. It looked like a commercial kitchen and was cut off from the rest of the house. It was designed for production, not aesthetics. This project was a complete remodel of the kitchen, opening it up to the living room and dining room for a more contemporary lifestyle. The design style borrowed elements from the existing Japanese styled house.
